THE LATE MR KOON YEW YIN

The Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) records with deep sadness and profound respect the passing of the late Mr. Koon Yew Yin, a towering figure whose visionary leadership helped lay the foundational stones of Malaysia’s construction landscape. the late Mr. Koon was a successful entrepreneur. However, his contribution to the industry was perhaps most personally felt through his dedicated service to our association.

The late Mr. Koon served as the Secretary-General of MBAM for nine years from 1976 to 1984, a pivotal period during which he provided a steady hand and a sharp analytical mind to steer the association through the formative years of Malaysia’s development. 

Beyond the boardroom and the construction site, the late Mr. Koon’s legacy is etched in his unwavering commitment to education and philanthropy. Through his contribution to MBAM Education Scholarship Fund, he paved the way for underprivileged students to pursue careers in engineering and construction, ensuring that his influence would endure through the next generation of builders.

The Malaysian construction fraternity has lost a true elder statesman and a mentor to many. 

On behalf of the MBAM Council and our members, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones as we celebrate the life of a man who truly helped build this nation.
