JUNE 2021 PRESIDENT WEBSITE MESSAGE
As the nation is currently going through the Full Movement Control Order (FMCO) in the month of June, it is yet another challenging period for all of us, including our members in the construction industry. Part of the common feedback that we have been receiving recently is the confusion with directives or standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the procedure of application for approval to operate. While we understand members’ frustration in getting the approval, MBAM is monitoring the situation closely.
Earlier this month, we have conducted a survey to find out how many of our members have applied for approval and the status of application. Upon completion of the survey, MBAM Secretariat have contacted some of the respondents facing issues on recommended steps to be taken.
Besides that, we have taken note on some of the issues shared by members and we will be pursuing the matters with relevant authorities. However, just to share with members, two of the main agendas that the Association is following-up on are on the clarification of criteria for critical construction works and the need of mass vaccination for workers in the construction industry. Do follow MBAM on our website and social media or download MBAM mobile application as we will share the updated information with members from time to time.
MBAM continuously asks for response through feedback and survey request. We really hope members will take some time to provide your valuable feedback, so that collectively, we have the right information to be represented as the voice of the industry at Government initiated meetings or dialogues.
Lastly, we thank you for your support and patience as we work together to bring you the latest update regarding the Malaysian construction industry. However, we would like to urge members who may be facing some issues during this trying time, please write in to MBAM Secretariat officially in order for the Association to assist you further.
