URGENT: FEEDBACK REQUIRED FOR PROPOSED VARIATION OF PRICE (VOP) ON BITUMEN & INDUSTRIAL DIESEL

 

We refer to the joint representation (Ref No: PKBM/KKR/2026/003) submitted by MBAM and the Malay Contractors Association Malaysia (PKBM) to the Ministry of Works regarding the impact of global energy price volatility on ongoing projects.

 

We are pleased to inform you that the Government is evaluating the implementation of the Variation of Price (VOP) condition specifically for bitumen and industrial diesel. This matter will be submitted to the National Economic Action Council (MTEN) for deliberation next week.

 

To support this application, CIDB Malaysia urgently requires empirical price data and cost-impact proof from contractors to justify the VOP implementation.
