The construction industry contributes 4 per cent towards the country GDP and we have targeted to reach a 5.5 per cent GDP by 2020. There are more than 140 other industries relying on construction for growth and sustainability.

I also touched on the Mega Projects in Malaysia and the challenges & Issues that the industry are facing. Construction Industry are resilience despite the economy down turn. It is expected to remain strong with the support of the RM136 billion jobs in the pipe line. Intense demand for infrastructure for more efficient urban transportation and housing would also help the construction industry. I believe the prospect of construction industries will still be good for next few years to come.
