IMPLEMENTATION OF OPT‑OUT OPTION FOR PERKESO LINDUNG 24 JAM SCHEME

Following the Cabinet’s decision and directive from the Minister of Human Resources, PERKESO will provide an online option for employees who wish to be excluded from the Skim Kemalangan Bukan Bencana Kerja (LINDUNG 24 Jam). This facility will be available beginning Monday, 13 July 2026. The change in policy applies only to local employees, while contributions for foreign workers remain mandatory.

Employees who do not wish to continue with the scheme must submit their own declaration through the PERKESO Lindung Faedah Portal. Employers are not permitted to exercise this option on behalf of employees, but they are required to cease deductions once notified of the employee’s declaration.

The opt‑out process requires employees to log in to the portal, complete the declaration form, and sign a liability waiver which serves as the legal basis under the Employees’ Social Security Act 1969 (Act 4). Employees are advised to download and retain a copy of the declaration form for their records and to inform their employer’s HR or payroll unit promptly. Employees who opt out will lose entitlement to medical, disablement, dependants’, funeral, rehabilitation, and constant attendance benefits under Lindung 24 Jam.

Members are advised to guide employees carefully on the consequences of opting out. The liability waiver is legally binding, and employees who opt out must accept full responsibility for the outcome of their decision.
