APPLICATION FOR FOREIGN CONSTRUCTION WORKERS (BANGLADESH) – SPECIAL APPROVAL QUOTA

We received the official letter from the Construction Labour Exchange Centre Berhad (CLAB) today in regards to the above‑mentioned issue. CLAB has been mandated by the Government to administer the special approval quota for foreign construction workers from Bangladesh. This initiative is introduced to address labour shortages in the construction sector and to provide contractors with a faster, transparent, and structured application process. This exclusive special approval quota for Bangladeshi construction workers is open to all contractors across grades G1 to G7.

Members are advised to take note of the following key details:

Applications are restricted to Bangladeshi nationals only.
Applications must be submitted directly to CLAB.
Quotas are limited and processed strictly on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
Closing date: 30 November 2026.

Application requirements for special approval:

Employers must not be blacklisted by CIDB.
Must have an active project for a minimum of 6 months.
Salary payments must be made through CLAB’s eSalary system.
Must demonstrate strong financial standing.
