MBAM JANUARY 2026 WEBSITE MESSAGE
As we welcome 2026, I extend my warmest New Year greetings to all MBAM members, partners, and friends. It is an honour to lead our community into a year of new opportunities for Malaysia’s construction industry.
Despite global challenges, 2025 was a strong year. MBAM members advanced major national projects and upheld safety and quality. Our advocacy also progressed, supporting fair contracts, digital adoption, and workforce development, key to Malaysia’s growth as a regional construction leader.
Looking ahead, Malaysia’s construction sector is set for solid growth in 2026, driven by public and private investments in infrastructure, data centres, and renewable energy. To succeed, I urge contractors to practice thorough risk assessment, ensure fair risk-sharing, and prioritise successful project completion. Strengthen cash flow management, improve communication with clients, and adopt practical digital tools such as basic BIM, cloud platforms, and AI. Enhance productivity through prefabrication, better planning, and strong site supervision. The most resilient contractors will be organised, principled, and strategic.
May 2026 bring growth, unity, and success to all. On behalf of MBAM, I wish you and your families good health, prosperity, and meaningful achievements. Together, let us build not only structures, but a lasting legacy for our nation.
Happy New Year 2026!
Oliver HC Wee KMN AMN
President, MBAM
