LAUNCHING CEREMONY THE MBAM-ILO-UK PARTNERSHIP FOR ENHANCEMENT OF A SECTOR SKILLS BODY AND INDUSTRY-LED TVET MODALITIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR<\/span><\/h2>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

We are pleased to inform the commencement of the partnership with International Labour Organization (ILO) through the Skills for Prosperity Programme (SfP Malaysia) funded by United Kingdom Government. The collaboration aims to contribute to sustainable and inclusive growth and skill development in the construction sector through the enhancement of a sector skills body and the promotion of industry-led TVET\/skills training. This in response on the demand for skilled workers who meet current and future skills needs and the improvement of skills utilisation, employability, and career development paths of women and youth in the vulnerable groups in the construction sector.   <\/span><\/p>\n

Under this MBAM-ILO-UK partnership, MBAM will develop: (i) an enhanced skills strategy for the construction sector: (ii) the pilot quality apprenticeship programme with 3-months work-based learning at MBAM members\u2019 job site; (iii) develop pilot gender equality and social inclusion career progression maps: and (iv) the action plans for scaling-up pilot results and enhancing a sector skills body. MBAM will design and implement activities in cooperation with key stakeholders, including workers\u2019 and employers\u2019 organizations, industry partners, sectoral regulators, TVET and skills training institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n
