REBRANDING OF THE MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCES
As per Media Statement issued on 3 March 2024, the Human Resources Ministry has been rebranded and will now use the acronym “KESUMA” for all official business related to the Ministry starting today, 4 March 2024.
KESUMA is derived from the initial syllable of the phrase of each word in “Kementerian Sumber Manusia”. KESUMA means ‘flower’ which is in line with the Ministry’s 3K strategic mission, focusing on empowering workers’ Welfare, Skills and Productivity.
In these 2 months, in line with this strategic mission, KESUMA has strengthened cooperation with trade unions, implemented reforms on the Malaysia Industrial Court institution, firmly emphasizing on workers’ wage rights, expanding coverage of social security schemes, improving skill training quality and most importantly implementing several measures to improve governance in all department and agencies of the Ministry.
