CHANGSA INTERNATIONAL CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT EXHIBITION (CICEE)
I was honoured to lead the thirty-man delegation from MBAM alongside our affiliate members, Gabungan Kin Cho Hong and Malaysia Mobile Crane Owners Association (MMCOA) 1987 to the Changsa International Convention and Exhibition Centre (CICEE) from 12 to 15 May.
CICEE which first made its debut in 2019 overcame the adverse effect of the Covid 19 pandemic and further expanded its scale in 2021. With the theme “a new generation of high end, Intelligent and green machinery”, it will carry out in depth match making with the belt and road construction, proactively integrated into RCEP and comprehensively expand China-Africa and China-Arab Economic and trade cooperation.
The trip echoes the efforts of Malaysian Prime Minister to build better ties and trade with China and it will also enable MBAM to draw potential exhibitors to Malaysia when MBAM OneBuild hosts the Malaysia International Construction & Infrastructure Technology Exhibition from 11 to 13 October 2023.
21ST EDITION OF MASTER BUILDERS ASSOCIATION MALAYSIA (MBAM) ANNUAL SAFETY AND HEALTH CONFERENCE 2023 LAUNCHED SUCCESSFULLY
The MBAM Annual Safety and Health Conference 2023 was launched successfully for the 21st year by Deputy Minister of Human Resources, YB Ts. Mustapha Sakmud this morning at Sunway Resort Hotel. The Conference this year brings the theme “Embracing the Change – New OSHA” attracted 300 participants at the 2-day Conference.
Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment is indeed no easy task. It is a shared responsibility and as the saying goes, “your greatest asset is the health and safety of your employees”. Thus, it is crucial for all employers and organisations to stay abreast and be well informed of the OSHA amendments to ensure that all our actions are in accordance with the law while upholding a safe work culture for everyone.
MBAM would also like to echo the government’s efforts through the amended OSHA that will empower employees in prioritising their health and safety, providing them a voice to speak up about safety and health issues.
During the Opening Ceremony, YB Ts. Mustapha Sakmud also presented the MBAM Safety and Health Award 2023. The award was officially launched in 2011 and is jointly organised by MBAM and the Lighthouse Club Kuala Lumpur. The Safety and Health Award for Site Personnel was presented to Ir. Vijay Kumar Palanisamy who has shown high commitment to the implementation of Safety and Health at construction sites. MBAM is also proud to confer the MBAM Golden Helmet Award for Leadership in Safety & Health to Mr Foo Chek Lee for his meritorious and untiring contributions to the construction industry.
