Courtesy Visit to See Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof
On 21 March 2024, MBAM together with CIDB Malaysia Chairman, YB Ir. Haji Yusuf bin Haji Abd. Wahab met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia cum Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof, at the Deputy Prime Minister’s office at Parliament, Kuala Lumpur.
MBAM invited YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof to be the Guest of Honour for the 70th MBAM Anniversary Dinner to be held on 31 May 2024 at the Sunway Resort Hotel. MBAM briefed YAB Dato’ Sri Fadillah on the tentative programme of the anniversary dinner celebration which will also see the launch of the 70th anniversary coffee table book at the event. The Guest of Honour will also give away 4 awards, namely the MBAM Silver Award, MBAM Honorary Life President Award and 2 MBAM Honorary Builder Awards.
MBAM thanked YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof for accepting our courtesy visit and look forward to having YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah as the Guest of Honour for 70th MBAM Anniversary Dinner.
Courtesy Visit to See Deputy Minister of Higher Education (MOHE), YB Datuk Ts. Mustapha Sakmud
MBAM also met with the Deputy Minister of Higher Education (MOHE), YB Datuk Ts. Mustapha Sakmud on 13 March 2024 at the Deputy Minister’s office at MOHE, Putrajaya.
There were exchange of information on the following:
- Shortage of local workforce in the construction industry due to the 3-D – Dirty, Dangerous and Difficult. There is a need to change the mind set of the people towards the construction industry and to look into higher wages for skilled workers.
- MBAM’s involvement in TVET training and Work Based Learning (WBL) with Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and Politeknik Shah Alam.
- MBAM’s involvement in ILO Skills for Prosperity TVET Apprenticeship programme.
- TVET Training for locals to help reduce the dependency on foreign workers.
- MBAM’s involvement in Government-Industry TVET Coordination Body (GITC) – hope to receive support from MOHE for its TVET activities and training programmes for locals.
- MBAM’s potential participation in MOHE’s focus group or working group discussions.
MBAM thanked YB Datuk Ts. Mustapha for accepting our courtesy visit and we look forward to future collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education especially in TVET training to generate local workforce for the construction industry.
