Enforcement of the Fourth Schedule of Act 520 CIDB- Implementation Guidelines for Standards MS 1017:2022 and MS 832:2022
We wish to inform that CIDB has sent an update with regards to the Enforcement of the Fourth Schedule of Act 520 CIDB for the latest standards MS 1017:2022 Aluminium framed sliding glass doors – Specification (second revision) and MS 832:2022 Aluminium Alloy Windows – Specification (second revision). The enforcement of these latest standards has been implemented as of September 1, 2023.
However, there are still several testing issues within these standards that require detailed implementation methods as well as alternative methods that can be used to ensure certification for these products is obtained. The Testing Implementation Guidelines for both standards attached together with the CIDB letter are to explain some testing methods with implementation issues, and these methods have been jointly agreed upon between industry representatives and the certification body with the Department of Standards as interim guidance while the standards are being updated.
The attached guidelines also replace the Notice of Implementation Procedure for Testing of Aluminium Alloy Windows (MS 832:2011) and Aluminium Framed Sliding Glass Doors (MS 1017:2012) dated September 29, 2020, which was previously circulated by CIDB. The adoption of these guidelines is effective from the date of the CIDB letter being issued until further notice.
