Construction Occupational Competency Development

INVITATION FOR PARTICIPATION – CIDB-MBAM Pilot Project on Construction Occupational Competency Development (COCD) for Construction Trade Supervisor (Foreman), 10th Intake KL

As a follow-up the successful pilot programme on COCD last year, we are pleased to inform that once again, CIDB Malaysia and MBAM will be collaborating to organise the forth Pilot Project on “Construction Occupational Competency Development (COCD) for Construction Trade Supervisor (Foreman)” with the aim to certify and register all construction personnel in compliance with the revised CIDB Act 2011. CIDB Malaysia is committed to enhance the image and professionalism of the construction industry and continuous improvement of competency opportunity for construction personnel by certification and registration of construction personnel.

This Pilot Project on “Construction Occupational Competency Development (COCD) for Construction Trade Supervisor (Foreman)” is one of CIDB Malaysia’s effort in creating more formalised construction competency training and development for better career development and advancement opportunity for the construction practitioners.  The certification and registration of construction personnel process is shown as per the flow chart (please refer to below chart). The COCD served to accomplish the stages 3 & 4 of the flow chart by conducting Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and training for the relevant construction personnel for Certification and Registration purposes as per required by the Act. Upon completion of the said course, trainee will receive a “Certificate of Competence – Competent Trade Foreman” by CIDB Malaysia.

The said pilot project which will be fully sponsored by CIDB Malaysia is targeted to commence on  13th March 2018.  However, MBAM will be collecting a COMMITMENT FEE of RM2,000.00 per participant which is refundable (without interest) to the sponsoring company once the participant has completed the programme. This deposit payment will be forfeited if the participant does not complete the programme.

CIDB Malaysia is pleased to offer up to 20 complimentary seats to all construction firms in Malaysia to send their trade supervisors (foremen) to attend this pilot project. A copy of the brochure is attached for your easy reference. Kindly complete and submit the registration form together with necessary documents to MBAM Secretariat on/before 19th February 2018. Acceptance of the registration will be on first-come-first-serve basis and the participant must meet the minimum requirements as stated in the registration form.
