[MEDIA STATEMENTS BY MKN AND MITI] APPLICATION FOR LETTER OF PERMISSION TO OPERATE FOR SECTORS AUTHORISED BY THE GOVERNMENT DURING THE MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDER (MCO) BEGINNING 1 TO 14 JUNE 2021

Please find enclosed the media statements by the National Security Council (MKN) and Ministry of International Trade and Industry, both dated 31 May 2021 for your immediate action.

In line with the implementation of the First Phase of MCO, all operating permission letters for essential services sector authorised by the Government issued by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) previously are revoked from 1 June 2021.

The MKN Special Session chaired by the YAB Prime Minister today decided that a one stop centre coordinated by MITI be established to issue operating permission letters for the necessary services sector after obtaining confirmation from the ministry that regulates the sector.

Companies that have already registered in MITI CIMS 3.0 do not need to re-register and can continue to download the letter of permission to operate starting at 8.00 pm, May 31, 2021. For companies in those sectors that have not yet registered, can register starting at 8.00 am, 1 June 2021. Detailed information on the registration procedure in MITI CIMS 3.0 can be accessed through www.miti.gov.my. You may also refer to the guideline attached to download the MITI approval letter.

With these latest developments, the movement of workers for these sectors can use:

1. CIMS 3.0 letter from MITI; and
2. Letter of confirmation of appointment from the employer OR employee pass.
