ADDITIONAL MEASURES BY BNM TO ASSIST SMEs AFFECTED BY COVID-19 – SMEs TO BE MORE VIGILANT OF SCAMS

Please be aware of latest scam involving third party offering a service to facilitate in loan application and securing financing of Special Relief Facility (SRF) and other funds announced by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM).

The scam syndicates’ latest modus operandi includes impersonating bank officers and/or bank representatives to engage the victims via email, phone calls, short messages (SMS) and/or social messaging platforms such WhatsApp, Facebook or other online messenger services.

BNM and financial institutions do not appoint nor engage third parties or agents to assist for securing loans/financings. SMEs seeking financing are advised to contact their banks directly or access www.imSME.com.my to apply for financing.
